Welcome to the Washington Unified School District Early Childhood Education Programs. Our programs provide an enriching, enjoyable and diverse curriculum that are appropriate to the age and stage of your child’s development. We believe a kind, caring atmosphere helps children grow to become happy, healthy adults. Our programs foster academic development while adhering to appropriate practices. We strive to foster mutually supportive relationships with our families in the belief that together we establish a secure, healthy and nurturing network for our children.

Washington Unified School District Mission Statement

To inspire student learning and improve academic performance by providing quality education and parent partnership for all students that will prepare them for responsible participation in a changing, global society.

The Early Childhood Education Programs support this mission with the belief that:

  • Each child is unique and a valuable person
  • Children are capable of making decision and solving problems.
  • A diverse and enriched curriculum is based on state adopted standards, sensitive to the ages and stages of children in our care, engaging their minds, bodies and spirits in constructive work and play.
  • Guided environments affirm and encourage a child's natural desire to learn.
  • We create a safe, secure and trusting place where individuals and relationships are supportive, nurtured and accepted.

We provide a warm, friendly environment where we help children feel secure and appreciated. Children can try out various ways of interacting and behaving without fear and risking ridicule. We provide this environment to assist children in becoming independent and to develop positive self-esteem. We pledge to do all we can to earn the trust that parents have placed in us.
